Is there a recep­tion?
No, we do not have a recep­tion. Everything is prepared so that you can check into the vaca­tion home inde­pend­ently. However, upon request, we are happy to come by and show you everything, and of course also if any prob­lems should arise. We are avail­able by phone, and we also respond to emails very promptly.

When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in: from 16:00 Uhr / 4:00 PM
Check-out: until 11:00 AM

Is early check-in or late check-out avail­able?
If you book through our website, you can add a "late check-out" and stay one extra hour.
Early check-in is gener­ally not offered, but you are welcome to contact us and we will check whether we can accom­modate your request.

How does check-in work?
Before your arrival, you will receive a message with various inform­a­tion, such as direc­tions, the name of the Mirror Cabin you will be staying in, and a code to open the door. There­fore, you do not need a key and you can drive directly to your vaca­tion home's parking space and move in.

How does check-out work?
You don't need to do anything special, you can simply leave the vaca­tion home. However, we would greatly appre­ciate it if you left it tidy. We would also be grateful if you could let us know when you are leaving.
Please double-check that you haven't forgotten anything.

Is there Wi-Fi in the vaca­tion home?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is avail­able for your use. The pass­word is provided in the vaca­tion home.

Is there parking avail­able?
Yes, each vaca­tion home has its own free parking space right next to it.

Is there a char­ging station for elec­tric cars?
There is no char­ging station at the vaca­tion homes, but there are some in the village of Búðardalur, about a 5-minute drive away.

Is the access road easy to drive on? Even in winter?
From the turnoff of the main road No. 60, a gravel road leads to the vaca­tion homes. It can be easily driven on with any car. However, in winter, we recom­mend arriving with a four-wheel-drive vehicle and winter tires. This recom­mend­a­tion gener­ally applies whenever you are trav­eling on Iceland’s roads during winter.

Can break­fast be ordered?
No, we do not offer break­fast. There is a small super­market in the village of Búðardalur, about a 5-minute drive away.

Are there any restaur­ants and cafes nearby?
The small village of Búðardalur is about a 5-minute drive away. There you'll find the restaur­ants Blys and Vínlandsétur, as well as the cafes Blómalindin and Dalia. Opening hours vary consid­er­ably depending on the season, and some are completely closed from autumn until the following early summer.

Where can I shop?
The small village of Búðardalur is about a 5-minute drive away. The following shop­ping options are avail­able:

Krambúðin: Groceries and everyday goods
Vínbúðin: Alco­holic bever­ages
Bolli Icelandic Craft: Local handi­crafts and souvenirs
Dísubúð: Various non-food items

Can more than two people stay in one vaca­tion home?
The vaca­tion homes is designed for two people, and the double bed is 160 cm wide. If you don't mind sharing it with a small child, you are welcome to do so. However, we cannot provide any addi­tional furnish­ings (e.g. extra bed, chairs, etc.). For three adults or families with older chil­dren, two vaca­tion homes must be booked. We can offer a discount on the second cabin upon request.

Can a child's bed or extra bed be booked?
No, an extra bed is not possible due to space limit­a­tions.

Can the vaca­tion home be darkened in the summer?
Yes. The large mirrored windows have curtains, and the skylight has elec­tric blinds that can be opened and closed with a remote control.

Are pets allowed?
Pets are gener­ally allowed. However, please inform us if you are trav­eling with a pet.

Can the Northern Lights be seen?
The vaca­tion homes are perfect for observing the Northern Lights. Thanks to the huge windows and the large skylight above the bed, you don't even have to go outside in the cold. Northern Lights can gener­ally appear between mid-September and mid-April in dark­ness. You can find further inform­a­tion and other neces­sary condi­tions in the blog "Mystical Northern Lights."

Is it allowed to fly a drone?
It is allowed to fly a drone, as long as you limit its use to a few minutes, leave the animals undis­turbed, and do not bother or film other guests.
