Traveling in Iceland

Iceland is ideal for exploring by rental car. Low traffic, easy navigation, and stunning scenery make driving a relaxed experience. You remain completely independent and can visit the places you want, for as long as you like.

The Mystic Light Lodge is also best reached by car, as there is no public transportation to the vacation homes.

Driving in Winter

The western coastal region where Mystic Light Lodge is located is relatively low in snowfall and can usually be visited without difficulty even in winter. Road No. 60, which leads to our vacation homes, is regularly cleared if it snows. Only in rare cases might the road have to be temporarily closed due to extremely bad weather conditions.

Generally, it is advisable not to plan long distances in winter and to remain flexible. Daylight hours are limited, and flexibility helps you avoid unnecessary stress in the event of particularly stormy weather.

We recommend renting a car with four-wheel drive and studded winter tires.
